We used to use our sunroom as storage when we first moved into this house, the only thing you could see were boxes and more boxes and a bright red floor. Last year, my husband decided that was time to change things a bit, so we could use the extra space in our home. And I'm so glad with the makeover because now it's our favorite room of the house. Take a look:
The first step was to relocate the boxes, throw a lot of stuff out and paint the floors with a nice neutral color. Painting the floors made a huge difference and for some reason made the room feel bigger and lighter too. A big plus of this room is all the natural light during the day, I love it!
My hubby make this little table (by the end of this post, you'll see how talented he is!) and the top is arranged with tiles, if you've been following the blog for a while, then you've probably seen this backdrop for many of my recipes. We've also added cushions to the chairs because they were quite uncomfortable to sit before.
This little sitting area is probably my favorite part of this room, cushions were added to the top of the storage to create more sitting space. I also love the hanging candle lanterns on top, the wooden hangers and "rules to live by" artwork.
This little table was a great find by my husband, it was simply sanded and painted white to match everything else and it's right behind the rocking chair.
The rocking chair was a great addition to the room and the kids love it, the bright yellow flower pillows are from TJMaxx and the beautiful coffee table was made by the hubby too.
This cabinet was another great find by my husband, just like the tiny table behind the rocking chair, this one was sanded and painted white too. I use it to store my tablecloths and napkins and few other items.
I wish I had a photo of what the room looked before but I can't seem to find it! But I hope you've liked our sunroom as much as we do!
